KATHMANDU: A total of 389 bodies have been recovered and 977 people have been reported missing following the sudden flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday morning, according to the latest update.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 33 bodies of people reported missing after the flood were recovered in Dhading, 28 in Nuwakot, 17 in Rasuwa, 32 in Gorkha, including various human remains, 87 in Nawalparasi East, 27 in Nawalparasi West, 137 in Chitwan and 28 in Tanahun.
The 977 people reported missing include 28 Nepal Police personnel, 45 Nepali Army personnel, 13 Armed Police Force personnel, four Immigration Office employees and 15 Customs Office employees.
The list also includes 161 people from Rasuwa, based on information received from the District Emergency Operations Centre (DEOC), 66 people from Makawanpur, also reported by the DEOC, 517 foreign nationals, 127 Nepali citizens residing abroad who were visiting Nepal, and one person from Nuwakot, according to DEOC data.
