Woman arrested with 74 kg of banned red wild mushrooms in Surkhet



SURKHET: Surkhet police have arrested a woman after seizing five sacks of banned red wild mushrooms from a bus heading towards Nepalgunj.

The arrested woman has been identified as Chandrakali Budha, a resident of Sinja Rural Municipality-5 of Jumla who is currently living in Surkhet.

Police arrested Budha on Wednesday after conducting a search of a bus at the local Subbakuna checkpoint.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kavindra Singh Bohara of the District Police Office, five sacks of red wild mushrooms were found concealed inside the bus’s luggage compartment.

The seized mushrooms weighed 74 kilograms, Bohara said.

The police have launched further investigation into the case and the circumstances surrounding the transportation of the banned mushrooms.
