Oli, Dahal discuss possible provincial cooperation and current political developments

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal held talks on Tuesday, discussing possible cooperation in provincial governments and the country’s latest political developments.

Following the meeting, CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet said Dahal had described the process of cooperation between the two parties as having formally moved forward after his discussion with Oli.

“After his talks with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said the process of cooperation with the CPN-UML has formally begun,” Basnet said in a statement.

Basnet said the proposed cooperation should not be limited to the formation of provincial governments but should also serve the national interest, strengthen political stability and promote broader collaboration among communist forces.

He also expressed hope that the discussions between the two leaders would pave the way for greater unity among leftist parties and contribute to the country’s stability and prosperity.
