NEW DELHI: India’s capital New Delhi recorded its best air quality in 12 days on Monday.

Weather experts, however, say the improvement in Delhi’s air quality is short-lived.

They have warned that pollution levels are likely to enter the ‘severe’ zone by Thursday owing to the gradual dip in wind speed, Indian media reports have said.

Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in New Delhi on Tuesday morning stood at 218. It was 211 around the same time on Monday.

According to the government of India’s air quality information service, the overall AQI of Delhi improved towards the ‘Moderate’ category.

AQI is likely to deteriorate to the poor category by the end of Tuesday and further deteriorate to the lower end of the ‘Very Poor’ category by Wednesday. (Agencies)
