Bhanu Jayanti to be celebrated nationwide tomorrow



KATHMANDU: The 213th birth anniversary of renowned Nepali poet Bhanubhakta Acharya is being observed with various programmes across the country on Monday.

To mark the occasion, Bhanu Pratishthan, Kathmandu, is organizing a city tour, chariot procession, morning rally and tribute programme at Nepal Academy. Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal and other dignitaries are scheduled to attend the event.

Similarly, the Nepali Education Council, in coordination with Bhanu Secondary School, will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at the statue of Bhanubhakta Acharya in front of Ranipokhari on Monday morning. Poet Bhuvan Hari Sigdel will also be honoured at a programme to be held at Lekhnath Sahitya Sadan in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Modern Kanya School in Bhimsengola has organized a literary programme today to commemorate Bhanu Jayanti.
