Passport services to remain suspended for two days during system migration

KATHMANDU: The Department of Passports has announced that passport services will remain suspended for two days as it migrates to a new digital system.

According to a notice issued by the department on Wednesday, all passport-related services will be unavailable on July 9 and 10 while the existing system is transferred to the new platform.

The department had earlier informed the public about the planned service disruption through a notice published on July 3.

Despite the suspension of passport services, the department said passports that have already been processed and are ready for collection will continue to be distributed.

Applicants who have received SMS notifications on their mobile phones confirming that their passports are ready can collect them by visiting the Department of Passports during the suspension period.
