Rs 1112 billion collected in revenue so far



KATHMANDU: With 19 days left for the current fiscal year to come to an end, the government has achieved 75.17 percent progress in its revenue collection targets for the year.

According to the Office of the Comptroller General, which maintains the government’s daily budgetary accounts, revenue collection of Rs 1112 billion has been achieved till last Friday.

The government had set a target of collecting revenue worth Rs 1480 billion for the current fiscal year. It will have to collect Rs 367.5 billion in the remaining 19 days to meet the target.

Among the various headings, the government has achieved 76.20 percent progress in tax revenue collection. Out of the target of Rs 1325 billion, Rs 1010 billion has been collected so far.

Similarly, out of the target of collecting Rs 154 billion in non-tax revenue, Rs 102 billion has been achieved so far. Similarly, out of the target of Rs 53 billion in grants, only Rs 24 billion has been received so far, which is 45.11 percent progress.

Meanwhile, the total government expenditure has reached Rs 144 billion, which is 71.53 percent of the total target. On Friday alone, Rs 5 billion was spent.

By nature of expenditure, 80.42 percent is current expenditure. Out of the total target of Rs 1180 billion, Rs 949 billion million has been spent.

Capital expenditure on development and construction work has reached Rs 142 billion, which is 34.87 percent of the target. The target for capital expenditure for the current fiscal year was set at Rs 407 billion.
