CHITWAN: Manish Jha, spokesperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has said the party’s first national general convention will deliver a strong message of unity and organizational clarity.
Speaking from Chitwan, where the party’s convention is underway, Jha said the gathering would reinforce internal cohesion and strengthen the party’s institutional framework.
“Party President Rabi Lamichhane and senior leader Balen Shah have already made it clear that the first general convention will send a message of unity,” Jha said.
“We will bring clarity on our policies, procedures and organizational structure. There is no question of factions or internal groupings. Any qualified member will be free to contest elections. We will seek consensus where possible, and where consensus is not reached, there is a democratic process in place,” he added.
Jha also acknowledged that he is naturally a contender for a party office-bearer position.
As one of the founding members of the RSP and its current spokesperson, he said it was reasonable for him to aspire to a leadership role within the party.
The convention is expected to finalize amendments to the party statute, elect a new leadership team and determine the party’s future organizational direction.
