TRIBENI: An eight-year-old girl died after drowning in a pond in Sisne Rural Municipality-5 of Rukum East on Sunday.
According to the District Police Office, Rukum East, the incident occurred while the child was swimming in the pond.
The deceased has been identified as Sahasi Roka of Kharabang, Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality-9.
Police rescued the girl and rushed her to the District Hospital, Rukum East, for treatment. However, she succumbed while undergoing treatment, said Police Inspector Lal Bahadur BK, the information officer at the District Police Office.
