Gagan Thapa to attend RSP General Convention in Chitwan

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa is set to attend the general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Chitwan today.

According to Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Yogendra Chaudhary, President Thapa will travel to Chitwan to participate in the event.

The party had initially decided to send Vice President Pushpa Bhusal as its representative. However, President Thapa decided this morning that he would personally attend the inauguration ceremony of the RSP’s general convention.

Chaudhary said that Thapa had previously been scheduled to attend a program organized by Nepal Tharu Sangh, a sister organization of the Nepali Congress, as the chief guest.

However, because he will be in Chitwan for the RSP convention, Vice President Bhusal will attend the Nepal Tharu Sangh event in his place.

Earlier this morning, President Thapa also extended his best wishes to RSP President Rabi Lamichhane through a social media post on the occasion of the general convention.
