FIFA World Cup 2026: Brazil beat Haiti 3–0

PHILADELPHIA: Five-time champions Brazil registered their first win of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Friday night, defeating Haiti 3–0 in a dominant Group C encounter at the Philadelphia Stadium.

Brazil produced a commanding first-half performance to seal all three points, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice and Vinícius Júnior adding another before the break.

Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after finishing a swift attacking move. He doubled Brazil’s lead in the 36th minute with a superb strike from inside the box, once again showcasing his sharp finishing inside the penalty area.

Vinícius Júnior then completed the first-half dominance, scoring in stoppage time of the opening period. The goal marked his second of the tournament, having also found the net in Brazil’s opening draw against Morocco.

With the result, Brazil moved to the top of Group C with four points from two matches, strengthening their chances of progressing to the knockout stage.

Brazil had begun their campaign with a 1–1 draw against Morocco, while Haiti entered the match after a defeat to Scotland in their opening game.

The win puts Brazil in a strong position as they look to continue their pursuit of a sixth World Cup title.
