KATHMANDU: Lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Friday drew the government’s attention to the reported police search at the residence of Koshi Province Internal Affairs and Law Minister Indramani Parajuli.
Taking the floor during the special hour, MP Rajendra Kumar Rai questioned the government over the incident, claiming that police conducted a search at the minister’s quarters on Thursday night around 10 pm while he was away in Sankhuwasabha.
“The police searched the minister’s house while he was not present. Why was this done? I want to know from the government,” he said.
Meanwhile, MP Aren Rai also raised concerns in the House regarding the alleged theft of 18 tolas of gold kept as collateral in a bank in New Baneshwor during the Gen-Z movement period, saying consumers had been affected and demanding government clarification.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal urged lawmakers to use the special hour only for raising serious and urgent issues, emphasizing the need for relevance and seriousness in parliamentary discussions.
