KATHMANDU: A new political initiative is set to be launched with the formation of a political party aimed at building a credible nationalist force in line with public sentiment and changing times, according to its promoters.
Speaking on the development, Rana said the move has been initiated after widespread consultations at home and abroad, where suggestions were received that there is a vacuum of a trustworthy nationalist political force in the country. He said the initiative has been taken by embracing public goodwill and expectations.
He added that over the past four years, party establishment leadership has repeatedly sidelined, disciplined, and politically pressured leaders and cadres in ways that have hurt their self-respect, while also forcing them to remain engaged in defensive politics against internal injustices.
Rana accused the establishment of forming factional groups for personal interests and of betraying ideological principles and manipulating political values.
He said the new party would be built on the foundation of a constitutional monarchy-based representative democratic system and a national identity that includes Hinduism, Buddhism, and Kirat traditions as part of a broader Sanatan identity.
He further stated that the party structure would ensure 60 percent representation of youth and women in central committees and other organizational bodies, while senior leaders would be placed in advisory and intellectual roles.
According to him, youth and women will also have the opportunity to be elected to the central committee from the district level, ensuring broader grassroots participation.
Rana also said that various groups, including campaigns led by Durga Prasai, are expected to unite under the new political platform.
