BJP President Nabin welcomes Rabi, stresses strong Nepal-India relations

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane, currently on a visit to India, received a warm welcome at the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi.

According to a statement issued by the BJP, a Nepali delegation led by Lamichhane held talks with BJP President Nitin Nabin at the party’s central office under the “Know BJP” initiative.

Welcoming the delegation, Nabin highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and civilizational ties between Nepal and India. He said the shared cultural heritage and strong people-to-people relations form the foundation of bilateral ties and expressed confidence that such exchanges and discussions would further strengthen democratic dialogue and deepen relations between the two political parties.

During the meeting, Nabin briefed the delegation on the BJP’s organizational journey, ideological outlook, party structure, and people-centric political approach.

The RSP delegation showed particular interest in the BJP’s membership drive, candidate selection process, and mechanisms for identifying and mobilizing grassroots-level party workers.

Responding to the delegation’s queries, Nabin said the BJP’s organizational strength has been built through continuous public engagement, active booth-level structures, and broad participation of citizens in the democratic process.

He also spoke about the development-oriented governance model led by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that development, public service delivery, good governance, and welfare programs remain central to the BJP’s governance and outreach strategy.

The two sides also discussed the growing role of Generation Z in politics, focusing on youth participation in democratic processes, public discourse, and future leadership.

The meeting was attended by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Members of Parliament Sanjay Jaiswal and Bansuri Swaraj, and BJP Foreign Affairs Department Head Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale.

As part of the visit, the RSP delegation also toured the BJP headquarters’ media center and central library.
