Small and cottage industries on a rise in Tanahu

TANAHU: An increasing number of people have been acquiring cottage and small industry registration in Tanahu.

The increase has been attributed to the mandatory provision for obtaining the PAN.

According to an Inland Revenue Office data, a total of 1,479 industries were registered in the first three and half months of the current fiscal year beginning July 17.

Among them, while 744 industries have been registered as the cottage industries, 734 have been registered towards commerce.

In the last fiscal year, a total of 2,605 enterprises were registered in the district.

The Inland Revenue Office said that the figure for the first three and half months is quite encouraging.

The Office collected a revenue of over Rs 4.6 million from the registration till October 16.
