KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the effects of a western low-pressure system, local winds, and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
The Division stated that weather conditions are generally cloudy across the Himalayan and hilly regions, including Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Lumbini Province, while the remaining areas are witnessing partly cloudy conditions.
Moderate rainfall is currently occurring in some locations of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as isolated areas of Lumbini and Gandaki provinces.
According to the forecast, the weather this afternoon will remain generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy skies.
The Division has predicted moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi Province and in parts of the Himalayan and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Light to moderate rain and snowfall are also likely at one or two places in other Himalayan and hilly regions, as well as isolated parts of the Terai areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Similarly, tonight’s forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with partly cloudy weather expected elsewhere.
The Division further stated that some areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with the Himalayan and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and isolated Himalayan areas of Karnali Province, may witness moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
