Cloudy skies and rain expected to continue in Kathmandu Valley throughout the day



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley has remained cloudy with intermittent rainfall since early morning today (Tuesday), with meteorologists indicating that the unsettled weather is likely to persist throughout the day.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, there is little possibility of the skies clearing over the valley today. The Division said there is a strong chance of continued rainfall.

There is a high chance of rain in the valley today. Light to moderate rainfall is possible, according to the Division. Light rain is already occurring in some areas, it said.

It further noted that even if there are brief spells of sunshine, cloud cover is expected to return quickly adding that there is a low chance of the weather clearing today.

Meteorologists classify rainfall intensity as light when it is below 10 millimetres in 24 hours, moderate when it ranges between 10 and 50 millimetres, and heavy when it exceeds 50 millimetres but remains below 100 millimetres.
