Widespread cloud cover, rainfall likely today



KATHMANDU: Weather across Nepal is being influenced by a low-pressure system, with forecasts of rain, thunderstorms, and possible snowfall in various regions, the Weather Forecasting Division said.

According to the Division, the weather is currently generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, while the remaining Terai areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions. Light rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with partly cloudy skies in other Terai areas.

There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some places within these provinces, as well as in a few areas of the remaining provinces. Light snowfall is also likely in some high-altitude regions.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, particularly in Koshi Province, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies.

Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some places in Koshi Province, and in a few hilly areas of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Additionally, light rain and snowfall are possible in one or two places in the mountainous regions of the remaining provinces.
