Bagmati province govt to set up rafting school in Sindhupalchowk

KATHMANDU: The Bagmati Province Government is set to establish a rafting school in Balefi Rural Municipality-5 of Sindhupalchowk district.

Secretary Dipendra Subedi said the initiative is being advanced by the province’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He noted that the school is expected to attract international trainees for river guide training, given Nepal’s global reputation for rafting on rivers such as the Bhotekoshi River and Trishuli River.

The ministry also plans to promote water tourism across major rivers in the province, including the Narayani River, Sunkoshi River, and the Kulekhani Dam, as key adventure destinations.

A budget has been allocated in the current fiscal year to support these efforts. The provincial government aims to boost both domestic and international tourism by organizing annual adventure festivals at these locations.
