Ward member arrested with gun



HUMLA: A ward member of Kharpunath Rural Municipality-4, Humla, has been arrested on charges of illegal possession of a loaded firearm.

According to police, 63-year-old Makka Bahadur Rokaya was taken into custody after a gun was recovered from his house on Saturday. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Khadka said the weapon was found hidden inside the residence during a search operation.

Police also recovered 12 iron rod bullets and 110 grams of gunpowder from the same location.

The District Police Office, Simkot, has initiated further investigation into the case, DSP Khadka added.
