HCC-N-FICAC Regional Conference 2019 begins in capital

KATHMANDU: HCC-N-FICAC Regional Conference 2019 has started at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in the capital with the theme of  ‘Solidarity for Shared Prosperity’ on Wednesday.

Jointly organized by the  Honorary Consular Corps-Nepal and World Federation of Consuls, the four-day conference was inaugurated by Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun. It will continue until November 15.

Speaking at the conference, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali said that Nepal will join hands with the international community for the prosperity of the country.

“The government has created an investment-friendly environment for foreign investors to invest in the development, employment, education, tourism sectors by institutionalizing the political changes,” claimed Gyawali.

Likewise, NCC-N and South Africa Dean Pradip Kumar Shrestha underlined the need that the Nepal government should move ahead by collaborating with the country’s immigration, migration, tourism with the world’s economy for the social transformation and economic development.

Similarly, FICAC Chief Aykut Eken said that climate change, terrorism, and human trafficking have posed a challenge to the world community and urged them to get united to tackle the problem.

Participants will deliver their views on various global concerns ranging from economic prosperity to education,  employment to tourism, climate change to gender equality and migration in order to make the world a prosperous and better place to live. Over 1,000 diplomats from over 80 countries are associated with this organization.

On the last day of the conference, a ‘Kathmandu Declaration’ will be announced that will be a guiding principle for HCC-N and FICAC for carrying out activities in the days ahead.

Over 150 Honorary Consuls and Consular Generals from Nepal and other countries are participating in the conference being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation and Visit Nepal 2020.
