Light rain likely in Kathmandu Valley today



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley is likely to experience light rain today, Sunday, with meteorologists warning of possible afternoon thunderstorms under partly cloudy skies.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the Valley is likely to see light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the afternoon.

The sky in Kathmandu Valley is partly cloudy this morning, and there is a chance of light rain with thunderstorms later in the day, it said.

The Division issues nationwide weather forecasts at 8 am daily. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 18.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today. However, this is a preliminary reading, and the official minimum temperature is measured at 8:45 am, which may be slightly lower or remain unchanged.

On Saturday, the minimum temperature in the Valley was 18.2 degrees Celsius.

The Division records daily minimum and maximum temperatures across the country. The minimum temperature is measured at 8:45 am, reflecting overnight and early morning conditions, while the maximum temperature—measured at 5:45 pm—indicates daytime conditions.
