Gold prices surge by Rs 3,100 on New Year’s Day

KATHMANDU: Gold prices saw a spike on Tuesday, increasing by Rs 3,100 per tola.

The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association has fixed the price of fine gold at Rs 299,800 per tola for today. This marks a sharp climb from Monday, when gold was traded at Rs 296,700 per tola.

The market has shown a consistent upward trend over the past week; exactly seven days ago, gold was valued at Rs 291,800 per tola.

This rapid increase on the very first day of the new year suggests continued volatility and high demand in the precious metals market.
