Westerly winds bring chances of rain, snowfall across regions



KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are generally cloudy, along with most high-altitude areas. Other hilly regions are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the Terai remains largely clear.

The Division stated that this afternoon, the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province, as well as other mountainous regions of the country, will remain generally cloudy. The hilly areas and Terai of Koshi Province are expected to see partly cloudy conditions.

There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Strong winds are also likely in parts of the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the weather in mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy, while hilly areas will be partly cloudy and the Terai will have mostly clear skies.

Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning is likely in a few mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, as well as in some hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki.

The Division has urged the public and transport operators in affected areas to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
