Communication Minister, World Bank delegation discuss digital transformation project



KATHMANDU: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Dr Bikram Timilsina held a meeting with a delegation led by David Sislen at his office on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the meeting, held in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on the World Bank-supported “Nepal Digital Transformation Project,” expansion of access in the information technology sector, data management, digital transformation, and governance reforms.

Minister Timilsina expressed gratitude for the continued support of the World Bank in Nepal’s socio-economic development, stating that the Nepal Digital Transformation Project would be implemented at an accelerated pace.

He also noted that following the formation of the new government, result-oriented work has already begun in infrastructure development and public service delivery. He added that the government is focusing on resolving project-related issues with a renewed approach and that tangible progress in projects implemented in collaboration with the World Bank would be visible soon.
