BAGMATI: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has urged authorities to provide relief to traders affected by the road expansion project in Hetauda.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 59th anniversary of the Makwanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hetauda on Saturday, Baniya said the federal government should take initiatives to waive bank interest for traders whose structures were demolished during the road widening drive.
He also said the provincial government is ready to facilitate tax-related issues for traders who have been paying taxes to the province. The provincial government, he added, is committed to supporting the affected business community.
Stressing the need for honesty, responsibility, and understanding in business, Baniya said the state may be compelled to intervene if dishonest practices occur in trade.
He further emphasized that the main road in Hetauda should be expanded in a way that minimizes damage to the market area. Baniya also said the provincial government is ready to allocate the required budget if the federal government decides to construct a bypass road from Lachka Bridge to Rapti Bridge.
