Home Minister Gurung visits injured Gen-Z protestors at KMC Hospital

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung visited injured victims of the Gen-Z Movement receiving treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal on Thursday night.

Gurung reached the hospital directly after completing a surprise inspection of Tribhuvan International Airport.

During the visit, the home minister met with the injured and inquired about their health condition. He also expressed special thanks to Sunil Sharma, the hospital’s operator and a former member of parliament, for providing free treatment to those injured during the protests.

According to officials, Gurung, who has been actively engaged in work since assuming office at the Ministry of Home Affairs, arrived at the hospital around 10 pm.

Dr Sharma informed the minister that most of the injured have already been discharged, while a few critically injured patients remain unconscious and are still receiving treatment at the hospital free of charge.

During the meeting, Sharma said the minister’s personal visit had boosted the morale of the injured. He added that arrangements have been made to provide free treatment to all victims brought to the hospital.

In response, Gurung praised Sharma’s humanitarian effort and thanked him with an embrace. “You have not only treated the injured but also wiped the tears of their families,” the minister said.

Gurung also wished the injured a speedy recovery and assured that the government would take such matters seriously.
