KATHMANDU: Top leaders of major political parties are set to address the first meeting of the House of Representatives as part of the inaugural session.
The agenda for the first meeting, which will be chaired by the senior-most member, was discussed during an all-party meeting held on Tuesday.
Sharing details of the discussion, Kabindra Burlakoti said party leaders are expected to deliver goodwill messages during the session.
“There is an understanding that top leaders from political parties will extend goodwill messages in the first meeting. The schedule will be finalized accordingly,” he said.
Similarly, Barshaman Pun confirmed that leaders from various parties will address the House during the opening session.
“Tomorrow marks the commencement of the first session, and leaders from different parties will present their remarks and goodwill messages,” Pun said.
Burlakoti also noted that further discussions are needed regarding representation in the Business Advisory Committee, as parties seek fair inclusion based on their parliamentary strength.
The first meeting is expected to formally begin the new parliamentary session, with leaders outlining their views and extending goodwill messages.
