KATHMANDU: Home Minister Sudan Gurung has directed police personnel to deliver citizen-friendly, clean, transparent, and service-oriented policing.
During an on-site inspection of the District Police Range Kathmandu on Wednesday, Minister Gurung instructed all police officials to prioritize public-centric service and maintain high standards of accountability.
According to SSP Ramesh Thapa, the Home Minister also expressed the government’s commitment to ensuring necessary arrangements for the use of technology in policing services.
During the inspection, Gurung was briefed on service delivery, ongoing operations, and crime investigation activities being carried out by the police.
SSP Thapa further informed that although Kathmandu had more than 1,300 CCTV cameras installed, 937 have been reinstalled following vandalism during the Gen-Z movement.
The Home Minister emphasized the need to strengthen service delivery and enhance public trust in law enforcement through improved systems and responsible conduct.
