Cloudy skies, scattered showers expected today



KATHMANDU: Westerly winds, along with local wind systems, are currently influencing weather conditions across Nepal.

Due to this, hilly and mountainous regions are generally cloudy, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy.

The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported light rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the division, this afternoon, hilly and mountainous areas will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai region will be partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Terai of Koshi Province, including Madhes Province.

Similar conditions are likely at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, hilly and mountainous areas, including those in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the Terai will be partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
