Three killed, 15 injured in road accident in Nawalparasi West



KATHMANDU: Three people were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at Daunne along the East–West Highway in Bardaghat Municipality–4 of Nawalparasi West on Tuesday night.

According to police, the accident occurred at around 12:40 am when a truck (Na 7 Kha 9398) heading west from the east collided with a bus (Lu 2 Kha 2351) and a pickup van (Na 5 Cha 2275) traveling in the same direction.

Following the collision, the truck and the bus fell off the road, while the pickup van veered to the roadside.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Tirtha Raj Poudel said that Govinda Budha, around 25, of Bagmara in Rolpa, died in the accident. Two other men, believed to be around 25–26 years old, also lost their lives. Their identities have yet to be confirmed.

Of the 15 people injured in the accident, 13 have been referred to Lumbini City Hospital in Butwal for further treatment, while two are receiving treatment at Chisapani Hospital.
