SC to hear writ petition on Rabi Lamichhane on Thursday

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) will continue hearing on Thursday a writ petition challenging the decision to withdraw organized crime and money laundering charges against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane.

Supreme Court Spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala said the hearing, which began on Tuesday, could not be concluded on Tuesday and will resume before a division bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Abdul Aziz Musalman.

Earlier, a division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Shrikant Poudel had directed that the petition be listed for regular hearing.

Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral had decided to withdraw the cases filed against Lamichhane. The decision has been challenged through separate writ petitions filed by advocates Yubaraj Poudel, Dinesh Tripathi, and Abhas Regmi.
