Over Rs 31 lakhs collected in donations at Pathibhara last month



TAPLEJUNG: More than Rs 31 lakh was collected in donations at Pathibhara (Mukkumalung) during mid-February to mid-March, contributed by devotees visiting the temple.

According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, offerings totaled Rs 31 lakh 10 thousand last month. Executive Director Prajin Hangbang stated that committee staff, under the supervision of the Nepal Police, collect donations from pilgrims at the temple.

The offerings are securely sealed in bags and transported from the temple premises to the foothills. After being collected for about a week at Fedi, the donations are taken to the committee office in Phungling. There, the money is counted and deposited in the bank daily under police supervision and CCTV monitoring.

Statistics show that 18,652 devotees visited the Pathibhara temple in February. As a prominent religious and tourist destination, Pathibhara attracts thousands of visitors from across Nepal and abroad throughout the year.
