Time to focus on party building: NC Spokesperson Chalise

KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise has called on party leaders and workers to focus on strengthening the party at this critical time.

In a Facebook post, Chalise described the current political situation as an opportunity for self-reflection and organizational renewal, urging members to unite and reinforce the party structure.

He emphasized that a single electoral defeat cannot weaken a historic party like the Nepali Congress. “Like a tree standing firm on a rock, Nepali Congress remains steadfast even in this storm. One loss will never defeat us,” he wrote.

According to him, the challenging phase offers a chance for the party to become more mature and organized.

Chalise stressed that the role of party workers is crucial, likening it to transplanting a tree into fertile soil to help it grow stronger. He highlighted the need to prioritize internal review, organizational expansion, and worker strengthening.

Looking ahead, Chalise urged the party to start preparations for future elections now. “Elections will come again, and we will return stronger and victorious,” he said.

He also noted that opposition parties may try to exploit the current situation, but Congress must remain focused on party-building rather than distractions.

Chalise reaffirmed the Congress’s historic role in Nepal’s democratic movement and expressed confidence that the party will continue to lead the country in the future.
