Market monitoring resumes after suspension due to elections



KATHMANDU: Market monitoring, which had been suspended due to the House of Representatives elections, has resumed.

Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection conducted monitoring of 17 firms as part of its effort to enforce market regulations and protect consumer rights.

During the inspection, discrepancies were found at Sujal Traders, which has been directed to appear before the Department within three days with the necessary business-related documents.

Similarly, the Department has issued corrective instructions to 16 other firms following the monitoring.

According to the Department, market monitoring is carried out regularly in the presence of local people’s representatives, consumer rights activists, and other stakeholders.
