KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently influenced by a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region.
As a result, the sky is generally cloudy over the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while the remaining hilly regions are partly cloudy. Some Terai areas are experiencing fog, According to the Weather Forecasting Division, .
The Division has forecast light rain or snowfall with occasional thunder and lightning in a few hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces during the afternoon.
The weather in the Kathmandu Valley is likely to remain generally cloudy with a chance of light rain throughout the day, the Division said.
At night, light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, as well as one or two locations in Bagmati province and the Terai region of Koshi province. Fog is also expected in some Terai areas.
