Bishnu Bahadur Khadka wins Surkhet-1 seat for Nepali Congress



KATHMANDU: Bishnu Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress has been elected to the House of Representatives from Surkhet-1, securing 26,897 votes.

According to Election Officer Kailash Prasad Bhattarai, Khadka defeated his closest rival Dhruba Kumar Shahi of the CPN-UML party by a margin of 8,007 votes. Shahi received 18,890 votes.

Similarly, Tek Bahadur Singh of the Rastriya Swatantra Party secured 14,729 votes, while Jeet Bahadur Rana of the Nepal Communist Party received 2,828 votes.

A total of 13 political party candidates contested the election in the constituency. Out of 122,902 registered voters, 70,167 votes were cast, with 2,393 votes declared invalid.
