One killed in bus-scooter collision in Sindhuli



KATHMANDU: A man died after a bus collided with a scooter along the BP Highway in Sindhuli District on Wednesday.

The accident occurred at Hirapani in Kamalamai Municipality-4 when a bus (Ba 4 Kha 3894) traveling from Kathmandu towards Marin hit a scooter (Ja 10 Pa 923) heading from Sindhuli to Chiabari.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Prakash Subedi of the District Police Office, the scooter rider, 35-year-old Chandra Shrestha of Golanjore Rural Municipality-2, Bitijor, sustained serious injuries in the collision.

Shrestha was rushed to Sindhuli Hospital for treatment, where doctors later pronounced him dead.

Police have taken the bus driver, Rajkumar Majhi of Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality-5, into custody and launched an investigation into the incident.
