Nepali Embassy in Qatar urges citizens to follow security guidelines

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Qatar has urged Nepalis residing in the country to strictly follow the security guidelines issued by the Qatari government amid rising tensions in West Asia.

The Embassy advised all Nepalis in Qatar to remain vigilant, stay indoors where possible, and take necessary safety precautions. It emphasized the importance of following official guidance and not relying on rumors or unverified information from unknown sources.

Citizens have been asked not to forward unverified news, videos, or messages, and to closely monitor official announcements and emergency alerts. The embassy also encouraged Nepalis to maintain regular contact with the embassy for guidance and assistance.

The Embassy confirmed that it is in continuous contact with Nepalis across Qatar via phone and other communication channels. Currently, approximately 360,000 Nepali workers reside in the country.

The advisory comes in the wake of heightened tensions in West Asia following the joint attack on Iran by the United States and Israel on Saturday, and Iran’s subsequent counterattack.
