Sampang claims Lamichhane’s Rastriya Swatantra Party can’t be called a new political force

LALITPUR: Chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harka Sampang Rai, has stated that his party has been compelled to enter the election arena due to the inability of established political parties to fulfill the expectations of the people.

Addressing a party rally in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, on Saturday, Sampang alleged that major parties repeatedly failed to deliver even after being elected by the public. He claimed that leaders of these “big” parties abandoned their responsibilities when the country faced crises following popular movements.

Sampang also criticized the Rastriya Swatantra Party, led by Rabi Lamichhane, saying it can no longer be considered a new force in the political arena. According to him, Lamichhane has already served twice as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, which disqualifies the party from being termed new.

He further alleged that during Lamichhane’s tenure as Home Minister, attempts were made to blame only GB Rai for a cooperative fraud case, ignoring broader responsibility.

Sampang stressed that the responsibility of nation-building lies on the shoulders of the youth, and his party plans to empower them as the main driving force for production and development.
