Lamichhane alleges same forces responsible for Singha Durbar fire and shooting of children

CHITWAN: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has claimed that the same forces were behind both the shooting of children and the burning of Singha Durbar.

He made the statement while addressing an election rally in Chitwan on Friday, emphasizing corruption and accountability as central issues in his campaign.

Referring to past incidents, Lamichhane alleged that those who turned Singha Durbar into a “den of corruption” were responsible for its destruction. “The reason Singha Durbar was burned is because it was made a center of corruption. Children were shot. Those who burned Singha Durbar and those who shot children are the same,” he said.

He added that his party has come prepared to fulfill what history now demands. “We are not asking anyone to change their political party. We are only asking them to change their vote. The Rastriya Swatantra Party is everyone’s party,” he said.

Lamichhane also responded to criticism about his outspoken style. “They tell me not to speak loudly or harshly. But I am Rabi Lamichhane,” he said, adding that he will not be intimidated. “If I fall, I will not be hurt easily.”

Stating that he has remained under scrutiny for a long time, Lamichhane said it has been 658 days since he was told there was evidence of fund misappropriation against him. “I was even asked about my last wish. I did not answer then,” he said. “Today, from Chitwan, I want to say what my last wish is, show it on the ballot paper on March 5.”
