EC dispatches ballot papers to Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Koshi



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has intensified the distribution of ballot papers and other election materials to constituencies across the country. So far, ballot papers have been dispatched to Sudurpaschim, Karnali and Koshi provinces.

Distribution of ballot papers and other election materials is also underway in the remaining provinces. The Commission has completed the printing of ballot papers under both the first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional representation (PR) electoral systems for the House of Representatives elections.

Under the FPTP system, a total of 20,323,000 ballot papers have been printed, packed and sent to 165 constituencies across 77 districts.

Ballot papers and election materials are also being sent regularly to Bagmati and other provinces. The Commission stated that distribution is ongoing nationwide and that materials will be delivered to polling stations within Kathmandu in the coming days.

The Commission also informed that transportation of 51 types of election materials, apart from ballot papers, has already been completed.

According to the Commission’s schedule, printing of sample ballot papers for voter education began on January 22 at Sanothimi, with 1,098,200 copies produced. Similarly, a total of 20,830,000 proportional representation ballot papers have been printed.
