POKHARA: Bangladesh and India will face off in the final of the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship today (Saturday) in Pokhara.
The final will be played at the Pokhara International Football Stadium at 2:00 pm on February 7. Defending champions Bangladesh advanced to the final with a perfect record, winning all three of their league-phase matches.
India qualified for the title clash as the league-phase runners-up, securing two wins and six points. The round-robin league-based tournament has been underway since January 31.
Bangladesh opened their campaign with a dominant 12–0 victory over Bhutan, followed by a 2–0 win against India and a 4–0 triumph over host Nepal. India, meanwhile, defeated Nepal 1–0 in their opener, lost 2–0 to Bangladesh, and sealed their place in the final with an emphatic 8–0 win over Bhutan.
This marks the first time Pokhara has hosted the SAFF Women’s Championship. The tournament is being organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) in coordination with the South Asian Football Federation.
