Home Ministry directs all 77 ADAs to enforce election code of conduct



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all 77 Assistant Chief District Officers (ADAs) across the country to effectively perform their duties as “Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officers” assigned by the Election Commission.

The directive, issued on Wednesday, aims to ensure a clean, fair, transparent, and credible House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

According to the notice released by Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha, the ministry trusts that all ADAs will carry out their responsibilities impartially and fearlessly. They are also requested to submit reports of their monitoring activities to the ministry.

The Election Commission has clarified that ADAs are appointed to monitor the code of conduct in all matters except financial affairs at the district level.
