Oli takes swipe at new parties: They don’t know where they’re going

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said the country is at a decisive juncture where it must choose between winning or losing its future.

Speaking at the party’s central office in Kathmandu on Saturday while welcoming former JSP-Nepal central member and share investor Dipendra Agrawal into the UML, Oli urged all forces to stand on the side of safeguarding the nation.

Welcoming those who join UML with the intention of strengthening the country, Oli said Agrawal had entered a “patriotic party.” He added that UML stands for peace, democracy, good governance, and development.

According to Oli, UML’s core objective is a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali people. He stressed that UML is not just another political party but one moving forward with a clear destination.

Taking an indirect swipe at newly formed political parties, Oli remarked that some of them lack a clear vision or goal.“Some say, ‘I’m moving today, but I don’t know where I’m going or where I’ll end up tomorrow,’” he said, adding that UML is advancing with the clear goal of building a prosperous Nepal and happy citizens.

Oli said UML has been continuously working toward building an advanced, cultured, and civilized society. He noted that opposition and conspiracies are natural when good work is done, citing religious and historical references to support his point.

He further stated that UML follows truth rather than praise, with national protection and development as its main priorities. Oli also said the stock market reflects the state of the economy and public trust in the government, emphasizing that the capital market should be viewed as an important indicator of the national economy.

The UML said the entry of Agrawal and other figures from various sectors reflects growing economic and political confidence in the party.
