Rishi Dhamala enters politics, gets Aam Janata Party ticket from Rautahat-4



KATHMANDU: Journalist Rishi Dhamala has formally entered politics after receiving a ticket to contest the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

Dhamala has been nominated by the Aam Janata Party to contest from Rautahat Constituency No. 4. His election symbol will be the mobile phone. He is currently on his way to Rautahat to register his candidacy.

The decision was made public through a social media post by his wife, Aliza Gautam.

In her post, Gautam expressed confidence that Dhamala’s experience in journalism, sharp intellect, and firm stance in favor of truth will enable him to play a positive role in politics as well. She also stated that he has entered politics with the intent to serve the people.

Dhamala’s entry marks a notable development as a prominent media figure joins the electoral race ahead of the March 5 polls.
