Armed robbers loot SBI Bank in Sindhuli, security guard injured



KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank in Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality of Sindhuli was looted by an armed group on Tuesday evening.

According to Sindhuli Police, the robbery took place at around 7:45 pm in a planned and coordinated manner. The robbers attacked security guard Rudra Karki during the incident and injured him.

Police said the robbers tied up the bank staff before assaulting the guard and carrying out the robbery. The group fled towards a nearby forest with bags filled with cash from the bank.

Later in the night, locals found some bags containing money in the area following the robbery.

A team from the Bastipur Area Police Office reached the scene immediately after the incident. Additional police personnel have been deployed under the leadership of Sindhuli District Police Office DSP Surya Prakash Subedi.

Police, with the support of local residents, are continuing a search operation in the forest and surrounding areas to track down the robbers.

The exact amount of money stolen has not yet been officially confirmed.
