Aspirants throng NC convention venue as nomination process begins



KATHMANDU: Aspirants for positions in the new Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress have begun gathering at the convention venue as the party’s second statute convention continues in Kathmandu.

The rush of potential candidates followed the publication of the election schedule by the Election Committee led by senior advocate Sitaram KC on Tuesday afternoon. With the nomination process set to begin, a growing crowd of contenders has assembled at the convention hall to file their candidacies.

As the number of aspirants increases, security arrangements at the convention venue have been tightened.

The Nepali Congress has fixed the nomination fees at Rs 30,000 for the party president, Rs 25,000 each for vice presidents and general secretaries, Rs 20,000 for joint general secretaries and Rs 10,000 for central committee members.
