Suspension bridge maintenance underway in Devghat



CHITWAN: In view of the Maghe Sankranti fair, the suspension bridge is being maintained.

Maintenance has started on the suspension bridge over the Trishuli River, connecting Bharatpur Metropolitan City–1 of Chitwan and Devghat Rural Municipality–5 of Tanahun.

The bridge used daily by thousands of people will be closed for traffic from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm until January 11, according to Purna Bahadur Kunwar, Chairperson of Devghat Rural Municipality–5.

He informed that maintenance of the old suspension bridge in Devghat is being carried out through the ‘Suspension Bridge’ office in Lalitpur and requested cooperation to facilitate the repair work.

Kunwar said, “Maintenance work has started by restricting traffic on the bridge during the day. We have requested all local residents and devotees coming here to use an alternative route to facilitate the repair work”.
