Weather: Haze in Terai, snowfall in Himalayas



KATHMANDU: The country is experiencing a partial influence of westerly winds. According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, fog or mist is likely to occur in most parts of the Terai this afternoon.

The hilly and mountainous regions will remain partly cloudy, with the possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, fog is expected to persist in most areas of the Terai. The mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces will remain partly cloudy, while the rest of the country is likely to see mainly clear weather. There is also a chance of light rain and snowfall at isolated places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki province, the division said in a press release.

The Division has warned that fog and mist in the Terai may affect daily life, health, and road and air transportation, and has urged the public to remain cautious.
